 1.   November Overview

 The Chiron /NeptuneConjunction 

The November lunations are both very powerful and highlight the Neptune / Chiron conjunctiont hat was prominent during 2009 to early 2011. Chiron and Neptune have been retrograde for some months and they both station and turn direct around the time of the full moon;Neptuneon the 10^thand Chiron on the 11^th. When a planet is stationery its energy becomes more powerful; it's as if the God is standing still to draw our attention… so Chiron and Neptune are demanding we honour their energy once more at the 11.11.11 full moon. 

At the new moon /eclipse Chiron and Neptune form a potent square to both the Sun and the Moon, challenging us to embrace their message once more and perhaps set a new intention as to how we can work with their message. 

What might the Gods be trying to say to us this month through illuminating the conjunction of Chiron and Neptune? 

In essence it feels like another opportunity to 'raise our vibrations' and tap into the healing power of love, compassion and forgiveness. This alignment symbolizes a complex and multi-layered phenomenon that operates on many levels and can take many forms, both positive and negative. Much has already been written about this alignment and the potential for spiritual [Neptune] healing [Chiron]. The gifts of insight, healing, compassion and love [Neptunerules Divine Love] will come to those who are willing to face their wounds [Chiron] and grow through this process. This is one of the most potent healing configurations possible, especially for those consciously working to raise their vibrations and release their fear. 

Chiron often re-opens old wounds to allow the healing of 'unfinished business', especially around rejection and alienation and Neptune can sensitize our wounds to facilitate this process. The danger here is to fall into the victim archetype and miss the potential for healing and growth. Chiron always works homeopathically and presents us with a little bit of the old toxin so we can integrate it and move beyond the old pattern. We are being called to let go our wounds and see the BIGGER PICTURE, personally and individually. 

Neptune enhances our connection with the greater whole and allows us access to what is normally hidden or veiled. It may be possible to catch a glimpse of the 'Divine Plan' if we sit quietly and believe it is possible. As the higher octave of Venus,Neptunerules our connection with Spirit and Divine Love. My sense is that this alignment is calling us all to come into our hearts and find new ways of relating that transcend the limitations of race, religion, ethnicity etc

The shadow side of this conjunction can occur on many levels including:

• Falling into the Chironic abyss and become overwhelmed by feelings of PAIN, ALIENATION AND REJECTION.
• Getting lost in the shadow side ofNeptuneand falling prey to our illusions and delusions. We may choose to escape into addictive and self destructive patterns rather than deal with any pain that emerges. 

The Full Moon on November 11 is at 18 Taurus [the Sun at 18 Scorpio] and sees both Chiron and Neptune stationery, ready to turn direct. The full moon falls on the energetically & numerically powerful 11.11.11 portal and to my thinking the imagery of the Neptune and Chiron [described above] sums this up perfectly. This is a very powerful time for meditation and inner work of all kinds… definitely worth getting up early for so you get some time to meditate before you head to work on the Friday morning. 

The New Moon in Sagittarius on November 25 is a Partial Solar Eclipse and the 4^thsolar eclipse for this year. Usually there are only two solar eclipses in any year so 2011 has been an exceptional - and particularly challenging - year. The eclipse also falls the day after Mercury turns retrograde, intensifying the introverted energy. 

This eclipse forms the apex of a powerful t-square with an opposition from Chiron conjunct Neptune to Mars in Virgo forming the base.This new moon / eclipse is an auspicious time for meditating on old wounds that may be reactivated around this time. See what happens if you can surrender your ego, open your heart and open to the possibility of healing and forgiveness. 

And now, a bit of background about eclipses… 

Solar Eclipses are powerful New Moons that can only occur when the Sun, Moon and Earth align with the transiting Nodes of the Moon. A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon shadows all [total eclipse], or part [partial eclipse], of the Sun. In myth this was often depicted as a battle between the forces of light and dark where humanity entered into a time of uncertainty. Eventually the forces of light prevail and life continues.

The path of this partial eclipse is focused on Antarcticawhere 75% of the Sun will be eclipsed. The line closest to the Australian mainland is the 0% marker where the eclipse becomes invisible so only our Tasmanian friends will be able to witness a tiny part of the Sun being eclipsed by the moon. 

Eclipses tend to be neutral energetically but they often function to bring to the surface whatever has been buried, hidden and repressed, especially regards the sign and house where the eclipse falls in the personal horoscope. Any planet or point in our personal birth chart that is conjuncted or opposed by the eclipse will also come up for review. Eclipses can herald a crisis but they also provide the opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start again. In essence, Solar Eclipses are very potent New Moons that mark endings and beginnings. 

The time before a solar eclipse is often a time of low energy when we are called to honour the dark of the moon process of letting go. If you have been able to see what needs to be released and have done some work to release your blocks and have forgiven yourself and others then you are in a good position to take advantage of the New Moon energy that comes after the eclipse. Set a conscious intention to make a new start, especially in the area of your life represented by the house where the eclipse has taken place. 

 Note:If your birthdayisfive to 10 dayseither side of the solar eclipse it could mark the end of a period of difficulty. It will be very empowering to set new intentions for your life and create a small ritual to honor this event. 

2. Mercury Retrograde

Mercury enters the retrograde loop around November 5 in preparation for turning retrograde on November 24, a process that heralds a new Mercury cycle that will begin around December 4 when Mercury conjuncts the Sun. The retrograde process takes place in the sign ofSagittarius. During 2011 the Mercury retrograde process has been taking place mainly in fire signs, asking us to review how we work with the energy of fire which is all about our passion, inspiration, courage, joy, optimism and confidence. 

Key dates / degrees

• Exact dates: retrograde from November 24 to December 14
• Sensitive degrees: 3 to 21 degrees of Sagittarius
• Full time of influence: 5^thof November to the 1^stof January
• Time for insight: around December 4 when the New Mercury Cycle begins [Mercury conjunct the Sun]
• Time to act on new ideas / beliefs: December 14 to January 1 

The whole retrograde phase is a potent time for reflection and review … a time when we can become aware of habitual beliefs and thought patterns and make the adjustments necessary to align our thinking with the person we are now. This is a great time to meditate, reflect, research, seek answers, sort out your paperwork, return calls and generally attend to all the things you have been too busy to do earlier. 

This is also a time when normal communications can go haywire and things often don't run to plan.

Remember to be patient, maintain your sense of humour, CHECK ALL PLANS, BACK UP YOUR DATA AND DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY IF THINGS GO WRONG! 

Currently Mercury is still visible in the evening sky but he will disappear for  about a week when he is lost in the blaze of the Sun from around November 30 to re-appear in the sky just before sunrise around December 9. In esoteric terms this is the most intense and powerful part of the retrograde process as this when Mercury assumes his alter ego as Psychopomp and Guide to the Underworld. In this role Mercury is associated with the Egyptian scribe Thoth, who has access to the Halls of Record [Akashic records]. Esoteric writers suggest that the retrograde phase of Mercury creates an opening that allows access to the wisdom of our soul and the wisdom of the Cosmos. 

Remember Mercury retrograde always provides us with the opportunity to free our thinking from habitual ruts and develop a more conscious set of mental attitudes and beliefs. Concerns may arise over the first few weeks and the answers and insight can appear when the new cycle begins on December 4. Sit with your insights until afterDecember 14 when Mercury goes direct. The next few weeks are the time to express your insights and put new plans into actio
