he Jupiter conjunction to Neptune that will perfect on April 12 or 13 [depending on where you are in the world] is starting to come into orb this month and is being activated by this month’s new and full moon.
This conjunction starts a new Jupiter Neptune cycle, the first in Pisces since 1856. It contains the imagery of potential enlightenment and spiritual awakening as well as the potential for mass delusion and confusion, plus it suggests the peaking of covid and digital viruses …and the cyber war that is happening now.
This month I will focus on the transit of the Moon’s Nodes through Taurus and Scorpio and the New Moon in Pisces and the Full Moon in Virgo and I will save the Jupiter Neptune transit for next month.
I will start with a very brief look at the chart for Ukraine.

A very few words on the invasion of Ukraine
I haven’t had time to digest what is happening in Ukraine but a very quick look at the chart shows that:
- transiting Pluto is conjunct the ASC
- Neptune will oppose Mars soon
- transiting Saturn is coming up to conjunct the Moon and oppose Jupiter and Mercury in Leo
- the south node is conjunct the MC and will conjunct Pluto soon
- Uranus will oppose Pluto
These are all very challenging images that suggest more struggle and hardship ahead for Ukraine. More on this next month.
Nodes to the Taurus Scorpio Polarity: North Node to Taurus and South Node to Scorpio
The Nodes of the Moon move backwards through the zodiac over 18.6 years, spending about 18 months in each sign. On January 18 this year they retrograded from the Gemini /Sagittarius polarity to the Taurus Scorpio polarity where they will reside for the next 18.6 months …until July 2023. The nodal form an axis so the South Node is always exactly opposite the North Node.
The eclipses are markers in the nodal cycle as the eclipses conjunct [ often widely] either the north or south node, hence we will see both the solar and lunar eclipses this year falling in Taurus and Scorpio, beginning with a partial solar eclipse on May 1 at close to 10 Taurus.
In the natal chart the nodal axis is said to indicate the path of the soul: the south node where it has come from [including past lives], and the north node where the growth lies in this life. I believe both nodes have value, but the south node can become somewhere we can get stuck as it is very familiar and perhaps too comfortable, but it also suggests gifts that we are challenged to share.
With the NN moving into Taurus I believe we are being challenged to embrace the Taurean challenges: to become more grounded and pay attention to our bodies and the beautiful body that supports us …Mother Earth. The NN in Taurus is calling us to honour our bodies and the Earth we stand on; it suggests attention to the land, farming, food, the environment, sustainability and of course …climate change. Taurus is essentially practical and calls us to DO something. Taurus values security and stability so on a personal level we are being called to examine our values and what security means for us.
The SN in Scorpio is where we can get stuck: in our fears and shadow; perhaps in old hurts and grievances and in the need to control, the need for power and sometimes for revenge. The SN here is challenging us to focus on our collective shadow and embrace forgiveness rather than vengeance. The current invasion of Ukraine certainly fits this image of the unskilful expression of this energy with the South Node sitting on the MC for the Ukraine.
The positive potential of the South Node in Scorpio is to uncover hidden motives and use our knowledge to heal and empower. The gifts that call for release involve finding ways to empower ourselves and others, and to let go the need for control and revenge.
During this time the nodes will square Saturn in Aquarius in April and the NN will conjunct Uranus in Taurus in August, critical times in this cycle along with the eclipses in May and October / November.

New Moon in Pisces on March 3
…takes place at 4.34am on March 3, AEDT. The New Moon is part of a stellium that contains the Moon, Sun, Jupiter and Neptune, all in Pisces. Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces and Jupiter the traditional ruler, so this is a very intense highlighting of the Pisces / Neptune archetype, along with its gifts and challenges. Jupiter – the Principle pf Growth and Expansion – will act to expand all our Piscean patterns.
This powerful Neptune / Pisces energy can have many positive as well as challenging effects including enhanced sensitivity on all levels – physical, emotional and energetic - which can be wonderful for our spiritual practice, inner work, intuition and creativity, but much more challenging for getting things done in the ‘real’ world.
Neptune and Pisces are also associated with confusion and possible delusion so beware of the shadow Pisces and Neptune energy with its tendency to indulge in:
At its purest expression, this Pisces New Moon can assist us to open our hearts and minds to the transpersonal and imaginal realms and to re-awaken us to the power of our dreams as well as the power of love and compassion…to see all life forms as one.

The March full moon chart has the Sun, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury all in Pisces opposing the full moon in Virgo, calling us to ground our Piscean dreams, pay attention to our health along with the more mundane physical realities and practicalities of everyday life.
The Virgo Full Moon is always a call to re-balance body, mind and spirit and become more grounded. It is an opportunity to see if we are lost in our dreams [Pisces] or lost in the everyday details and ‘busy-ness’ of our life [Virgo]. How can we create more balance between these realms?
Virgo is the perfectionist and worrier of the zodiac so this full moon challenges us to find more gentleness and compassion for ourselves and others [Sun, Neptune, Jupiter and Mercury in Pisces ] It may require letting go destructive [self] criticism and judgements that generate anxiety and alienation [dysfunctional Virgo].
